Hey everyone, its jan22...seems i've got lots of free time on my hands right now,as i solemnly swore not to go to college until after a week of its reopening >_<...so here i am,posting as much as i can in the time being...any suggestions on how else i should spend my time?hm..didnt think so.
"Its all....part of the Plan..."
Okay, its jan 22nd today and its an extremely saddening and mournful day,for all of us and especially hollywood,as this day marks the death of one of the finest actors in the industry...the late great Heath Ledger...whose sudden death last year, due to prescriptional overdose, shattered the very core of Hollywood...it wasnt on any occasion that this tragedy occurred...it was on the eve of the promotion one of the biggest films of 2008,in which ledger created history...THE DARK KNIGHT.
his untranscendable act as BATMAN's iconic arch nemesis,THE JOKER,in the film, was the buzz of the world...everyone was wondering what he would be like,if he would be able to outperform Jack Nicholson's JOKER from the 1989 BATMAN film. As inside sources proved to be extremely astonished and baffled at his work, albeit being awfully secretive about it.
little did we know that we were simply going to be blown away by,arguably, the performance of the year...
After creating a wide fanbase for himself coming from his edgy oscar nominated role in BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN,the expectations were unreasonably high for this one...and boy,did he deliver...providing one of the creepiest, gut wrenching, immensely enduring performances, ledgers turn as the anarchic terrorist of a JOKER would make you gape at him awestruck, with eyes locked onto him,and cheer him on in every scene that he dwells in,even if what he does in it is purely evil and sadistic.Such is the might of his work, and such is the bar that he created for himself and everyone else in the industry...
Which is why his loss is an even more terrible ordeal,as we would never get to see him pop someones head as the anarchic maniac ever again...and there is absolutely no replacement for him...such is the void that was created on his passing...and it saddens me deeply, being a batman fan,and an equally rigourous joker fan...
Today marks a year after his passing, and i thought i'd just replenish your memories by mentioning him,and just try and pay hommage to his great act. This gem of a being, who is now a posthumous legend, will live on in everyones hearts...may it be in the form of a 19 year old teenager from "10 things i hate about you" or as the now greatest villain in history, the joker...
Rest in peace,Heath...
Well, it's true that Heath Ledger had conjured an amazing performance and we all were completely blown away. I saw the movie thrice and I was spellbound.
ReplyDeleteI disagree with people who say that No one can do more justice to The Joker than Ledger. We should not rule out future performances based on the present.
Yet, we'll miss the Joker.
"Introduce a little anarchy.."
future or past in that respect...Jack Nicholsons joker was exceptional for its time and stands on its own even today.Every actor will have his own take of the character that he potrays. The only difference is,that the bar has been raised by Ledger.
